E3 is over and if you missed it you can get our full recaps from the EA, Bethesda, Microsoft, Ubisoft, Sony and Nintendo presentations. But now it is over we are just that much closer to everything coming out, so before we get to the full list, here are your highlights for this week:
Starting your week is NightStar Alliance which is a twist on the arcade shooter like Galaga but played in VR. While this might seem like a recipe for reaching for your airsick bag you are positioned behind the ship which is tied to your VR controller and it looks really cool too. HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality owners will be able to get this off Steam on Monday.
On Tuesday XBox owners can pickup Haimek a sepia looking action adventure game putting you in the role of a young writer trying to make a living in a town full of warriors, sorcerers, dragons and basically everything medieval. Being a writer Haimek doesnt use a sword but words to do battle or suffer (multiple) horrific deaths.
Drivers, if you were excited by the Crew 2 during E3 then this Friday is the day to get involved in the Open Beta mentioned during the presentation. Available on Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One the Open Beta is only running from Friday until Tuesday with the game release not too far behind.
Also on Friday, Mario Tennis Aces joins the Switch library. For anyone who has ever owned a Wii or had an epic rally in Wii Sports tennis which has resulted in putting holes in walls or accidentally hitting your friends with your controller you will know what this is all about. But this time you can take it outdoors with the Switch! Just maybe don’t play this one near the pool (and yes, there are Switch Tennis Racket accessories also out this week to go with it)
Honourable Mention: Love playing VR but sometimes miss human interaction but you still dont want to venue outside the Oasis? On our radar for some time but only just getting a release date for this Friday is Social Club VR on Steam which lets you play games such as poker, blackjack, backgammon and more with friends or strangers, it’s like going outside without that pesky sun.
