Continuing on Wednesday we are nearly halfway through the Hoyt’s MCU Marathon. Every day since the 19th of August Hoyt’s cinemas have been playing each film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe daily and will continue until the 15th of September. Thursday

Need to up your Pinball game? Try Netherworld on Thursday night as part of the Valley Fiesta in Brisbane for Pinball for Beginners. The Netherworld coaching staff will be on hand to help you master dead flipping, cradling and post passing plus a whole lot more to up your game before the next big pinball challenge.

Friday

After you have attained the rank of Pinball Wizard why not check out Brisbane‘s newest Pinball venue Pinball Haus for Pizza and Pinball this Friday. All the machines will be switched over to free play mode with one entry price for all the pinball and pizza you can handle.

Saturday

Running both Saturday and Sunday the Shuvani Festivále Historíque is a medieval faire with a difference, following the essence of these early migrants from India, before the crystallisation of the new nations. This festival depict the fusion of the various regions along the Spice Trail from India to Spain. It’s happening north of Brisbane.

If you are in Bundaberg or the surrounds and have a serious lack of rural con then worry no more with the first ever Bundy Pop Cult Mania this Saturday. It’s no secret we love supporting cons outside the major cities and with this being the first happening in Bundaberg this weekend if you are in the area make sure you attend so this can only get bigger.

Sunday

Don’t forget Sunday is Father’s Day here in Australia. If you are looking for a gift idea other than a Bunnings voucher, we have some suggestions.

This Sunday is Netherworld’s second ever Street Fighter II competition. This is going to be massive with up to 60 players invited in a double elimination across two brackets, so this is a ticketed event and the only way to play in Brisbane.

And finishing out Sunday have a Oceanic Pro League League of Legends Grand Final viewing party at Event Cinemas. Happening at limited cinemas around the country you can pickup a ticket to watch in Brisbane at Myer Centre Cinemas or the Gold Coast at the Robina Cinemas.

Wednesday

Do you have razor sharp puzzle solving skills when it comes to escape rooms? Want to see what it takes to be World Championship material? This Wednesday in Sydney at MacQuarrie University you can see teams of 4 as they compete in the Australian qualifiers for the World Escape Room Championship. It’s open for all 18+ teams of 4 but if you miss out this week there is another qualifier in a few weeks time.

The Australian Academy of Parkour is going big on Friday with a massive Nerf War event in Sydney. Saturday

Twin Peaks fans will want to pickup tickets for the ultimate fan event with stars of the show including Laura Palmer/Sheryl Lee and just announced David Lynch (via Skype). Twin Peak: Conversation with the Stars is one evening event has been touring the country and this Saturday it’s on in Sydney.

Sunday

If you are a gaming Dad (or your Dad is a gamer) this Sunday in Sydney drop into the 1989 Arcade for Retro Arcade Club. Grab a ticket and from midday until 4PM you can enjoy all the games and arcades the 1989 has to offer in freeplay all afternoon (there is also some Father’s Day burger specials) making the perfect Father’s Day.

PAX is coming! But if it isnt soon enough for you in Federation Square from Friday and Saturday is a PAX Preview event. Melbourne’s Federation Square will be a mini-PAX with Indie games, retro machines, table top games, live streaming, competitions, giveaways and aahhhhh! So much stuff! It’s on this weekend in Melbourne.

There is a lot going on this weekend in Melbourne but we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that VidCon, the massive YouTuber/YouTube Creator conference is happening from Friday through to Sunday. Just want to meet some of your favourite YouTubers? There is also a community track so check out the schedule over at the VidCon site.

It was only 106 miles to Chicago 40 years ago when the Blues Brothers first took to the big screen and if you are in the mood for some Joliet Jake and Elwood Blues this Friday then you can find it at the MeMo Music Hall. Melbourne‘s Blues Brothers Tribute Band, Briefcase Full of Blues will be playing all the hits you know plus a few more to start your weekend right.

Saturday

Starting Saturday and rolling through until Sunday is Melbourne‘s first eSports Open happening at the Rod Laver Arena this weekend. With the Overwatch Contenders Australia Finals and the League of Legends Oceanic Pro League Finals happening on each day in addition to a gaming expo area, this is the best event for anyone into competitive gaming.

For the True Believers the Victorian UFO Action Group is meeting this Saturday. This group is dedicated to everything UFO related happening in Victoria so if you are more Mulder than Scully this might be on your calendar for Melbourne.

And lastly for Hobart, did you miss out on AICon’s last intro to LARP session? Saturday is your chance again to learn the basics of LARP from swinging a sword to basic rules. It’s open to all TasPop events members but you can also join for only a $10 annual membership with more details available through the event page organisers.

Starting Friday it’s time for the Adelaide Royal Show! Running for the next 10 days expect sideshow rides, all the junk food you could want and tons of show bags (we are like the look of the Nerf Show bag). It’s on in Adelaide of course.

Dance Party and Cosplay meet on Friday for the Red Square Marvel dress up party. Tickets are now available for this event in Adelaide.

Saturday

Saturday in Adelaide is time for Comic Lovers and Creators to get together for the Monthly meet thanks to Greenlight Comics. This monthly event lets you get out and meet others in the community as well as give you a chance to flick through the latest previews and put down your comic order for next month.

Sunday
