What’s On: Mar 3 – 9

Hey look another What’s On! We have some new movies in cinemas, some new TV across streaming and even a Sydney OzComicCon all happening this week, here’s your guide to everything happening this week in Geek across Australia in 2021

1On Streaming/TV

On the small screen this week we start on Foxtel where in addition to the new Superman & Lois series (which is pretty good) the rest of the WB Arrowverse returns after a cut short season last year with the new longest running series The Flash returning on Thursday.

Meanwhile, over on streaming Netflix anime is going strong with the Pacific Rim animated series, Pacific Rim: The Black also starting on Thursday. With past successes like Castlevania you can expect a lot more animated from Netflix this year and even later this month.

And we don’t have to mention the last episode of Wandavision is out this friday on Disney+ so don’t forget to check our guide for how to avoid online spoilers before Friday (or on Friday if you plan to watch later).

2In Cinemas

In cinemas this week there are two big films coming for you to check out at your local favourite cinema starting with the Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland – Chaos Walking. Imagine a world halfway between one where all men’s thoughts were projected above their head and the Last of Us without the Fungi and you might be on your way to getting an idea of this one.

Also in cinemas this week is Raya the Last Dragon which is not only on the big screen but you can watch on Disney+ streaming (as premium access for a fee) also this week. Raya is set against a backdrop of creatures and warriors and looks pretty good. Expect our spoiler free review out later this week.

3Stuff To Go Do

And lastly we have an actual big even with OzComicCon returning… sort of. In Sydney this weekend is the first ever OzComicCon Pop-Up event happening at Olympic Park, happening on Saturday and Sunday this is the first time this event has been held under it’s new organiser. We expect there will be some challenges in a near post pandemic landscape but there are still a bunch of things planned including cosplay, gaming and exhibitors even some local based guests for comics aficionados.
