Fans of the MCU might be familiar with the one shot Item 47 starring Lizzy Caplan which involves a couple finding and making an Alien weapon work before going on a cross-country bank robbing spree. Now imagine that but a kid finds the gun and then imagine that it isn’t Marvel at the helm but the Producers of Stranger Things. If that got your attention then you are going to want to see the new film out next month, Kin.
Coming from Australian Writing/Directing twins Jonathan and Josh Baker is exactly what you didn’t know you needed until right now. The film due out at the end of August for Australia follows Eli who discovers a futuristic/alien weapon in a very non-futuristic/non-alien world of right now. With this being the first major feature film of the duo, it is even more impressive with it drawing the talents of James Franco, Dennis Quaid and Zoë Kravitz (daughter of Lenny and previously of X-Men: First Class and Fury Road) to name just a few.
You can check out the full trailer below but in a year when movies from Australian talent like Upgrade have come out of nowhere to be one of our favourite movies in the same year as films like Infinity War, we are definitely going to be checking this one out.
Kin will be in Australian Cinemas next month from August 30
