This Thursday Black Panther makes it’s way to cinemas across Australia. We are pretty hyped for this not only because it is the latest addition to the MCU but also as it is the last Marvel film before Infinity War. Check back later this week for our full review.

This Friday Netflix drops Everything Sucks season one for your binging pleasure. If you grew up in the 90s and a fan of series like Freaks and Geeks this might be for you.

The Han Solo teaser and posters have you in a Star Wars mood? Catch the last instalment in the Skywalker saga this Friday at the Moonlight Cinemas. Watch the Last Jedi in the great outdoors with the Moonlight cinema in Brisbane, bring a blanket or even just spring for the beanbag just grab your tickets early.

Saturday

Happy Random Acts of Kindness Day! So be random, do something for someone else! Whether its a complement or holding a door open or buying a calendar for charity to be sent to someone else spend it making someone else’s day randomly better.

Too hot to go outside this weekend? Maybe play a lazy 18 at Netherworld with Pin Golf this Saturday and Sunday in Brisbane. No clubs are required with 18 rounds of Pinball across two days to win this comp.

Still building your life sized LEGO Death Star model? Need more bricks? Head to BrickSales second LEGO event with vendors, rare sets and enough raw bricks to rebuild Alderaan (What? Too soon?). It’s on Saturday in Brisbane.

Weekend not complete without some Cosplay? In Brisbane on Saturday you can head to the Cosplay Competition in Southbank. It’s on as part of the BrisAsia festival happening this weekend.

Thursday is the day for cult movies in Sydney with Cult Cinema at the Newtown Hotel continuing it’s Pixar run with Finding Nemo during happy hour. Like you needed a reason for $4 pizza. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.

Know your IG-88 from your TK421? Are you no longer allowed to play Star Wars Trivia Pursuit? Are you in Newcastle? Then Star Wars Trivia at the Matara Hotel is for you, you don’t even need a team just make sure you register and they will take care of the rest.

Looking for somewhere to show off your Galaga skills where you won’t get busted by Tony Stark? Our friends at the 1989 Bar in Sydney are holding an awesome Galaga Arcade Tournament this Thursday. One game, three lives and the highest score walks away champion. Tournament starts at 8pm.

Friday

And to wrap up your Friday Movies in a Graveyard continues with the Jennifer Connelly/David Bowie classic, Labyrinth. The final screening of this series held at Newtown’s Camperdown Memorial Park in Sydney bring a blanket for this screening which kicks off at 8 PM.

Black Panther might be out tomorrow but Wednesday in Melbourne is the only place in Australia to see a preview of the latest MCU on the IMAX 4K Laser Digital Projector. Catch a special preview session in 3D (or a session later this week if you need to) at Melbourne’s IMAX.

If you already caught an early session of Black Panther and want to get some more outdoor cinema in before winter then Melbourne‘s Rooftop Cinema brings you some classic 90s Paul Rudd with Clueless. Playing for one session only see a pre-MCU Paul Rudd with Schumacher’s Batgirl in this classic.

Alternatively if these are too family friendly for you the horror original My Bloody Valentine is playing as part of the Reject Cinema at the Loop Project Space & Bar. It’s also on this Thursday in Melbourne.

It’s happening Saturday.

Need to rewatch Thor Ragnarok before Black Panther? Head back to the Rooftop Cinema this Saturday in Melbourne as you can catch it one more time before seeing the latest MCU on your way to Infinity War.

Alternatively if you still want to enjoy a movie outdoors before winter you can watch the awesomeness of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle at the Moonlight Cinemas instead. Only playing for one session this Saturday in Melbourne.

Looking for something in Geek for that perfect present for an upcoming Birthday or just need something for yourself? Head to Hobart‘s Geek Markets which are on again this Saturday. With a combination of makers and vendors you are sure to find something that you never knew you needed.

Also in Hobart, TasPop are putting on their 18+ gaming again this Saturday night with TasPop After Dark. With Card, Board and Video Gaming and perks for TasPop members, seems like a good reason to join.

Sunday

Well alright, alright, alright.. the Rooftop Cinema in Melbourne polishes off a great week with the classic Dazed and Confused. This classic with a before they were big cast of Milla Jovovich, Ben Affleck, Parker Posey, Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey is just what you need to relax after a hard weekend. It’s playing for one session only this Sunday as part of the Levi’s presents series.

Prefer your Pop Culture more retro? For the entire duration of the Adelaide Fringe Festival you can catch an Exhibition of Retro Pop Culture featuring Pop Culture from the 20s through to 60s. It’s on Weekdays starting Thursday.

Friday

If you can dodge a wrench then you probably will find Beach Dodgeball much much safer. Head in to Adelaide CBD with Beach Dodgeball in the City with your team or by yourself for some cold beverages and some Dipping, Dodging and Diving this Friday. Also, stop hanging out in places where people throw wrenches, it sounds super dangerous.

Looking to get your ranking up for Star Wars Destiny? Then you definitely need to get to Greenlight Comics this Saturday for the Star Wars Destiny Regionals. Spots are limited but registration is absolutely necessary.

Want to enjoy everything that the Adelaide Fringe Festival has to offer? Head out and catch some Harry Potter themed comedy with Unplotted Potter. This Saturday is the first night with the rest of the shows in March.

Also at the Adelaide Fringe Festival you can get your gaming fix with Game Nights by BrainHackr. For the duration of the Festival every Friday and Saturday the BrainHackr will have a different game for play starting this week with Zombicide.

And to finish off your Saturday at the Fringe Festival you can join the Plumbing the Death Star podcast. The hit iTunes comedy podcast with over 12 million downloads covers everything from Death Star sanitation to the Multiple Man and you can join them this Saturday in Adelaide.

Looking for the perfect date for Beekeepers Day? Head to the Planetarium as part of Fringeworld for Dome Date Night. Take a trip to the stars in Perth and be guided through the night sky on Wednesday.

Nothing says romance like Nikola Tesla and at Perth‘s Fringeworld you can get all the sexy science time you need this Wednesday night with Nikola and I. Be regaled by a night of your host as they retell being flung through time for space, science and cosmic “woo woo” this Wednesday and Friday only.

Nintendo Live is a night of gaming music performed by the Smash Brothers as part of the Perth Fringe World. With songs from Golden Eye, Mario Kart and Super Mario what more can you want for your V-Day? It’s playing this Wednesday and Thursday only.

And rounding out your Wednesday, always wanted to see a sketch comedy show based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe? MARVELus is just that at the Perth Fringe World from Wednesday until Saturday this week.

From Thursday to Saturday this week enjoy some of the best Studio Ghibli as part of the Perth Fringe World. This week catch My Neighbour Totoro, Laputa: Castle in the Sky and Nausica of the Valley of the Wind, for more check the full schedule.

Need some more anime? Get to the Hoyts Carousel for Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion I – Initiation. Taking from the original episodes and put together by the original Code Geass team this feature is playing for only a limited time in Perth.

And finally, rewatch the original Blade Runner as part of Nevermind Smallclub cinema this week on Thursday. Tickets are still available to the Pop-Up Cinema for this directors cut edition when it plays in Perth.
