Day Two of Comic Con has just ended and there is still a lot happening with studios and streaming services still releasing trailers even without full panels (or separate to the panel like the last minute Invincible trailer on Day One). Movies
- DC/WB Animation announced a Watchmen animated film coming in 2024 and a Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths animated film
Television
- The Star Trek Strange New Worlds/Lower Decks crossover episode dropped early and is on Paramount+ now
- Dragon Prince Season 5 also dropped a week early on Netflix and is available now
- The official full trailer for One Piece on Netflix was released
- After announcing a date for the new season with a trailer and long new cast list yesterday an Invincible Atom Eve Prequel hour long episode dropped overnight on Amazon Prime to watch right now
- Following the recast with a different voice for Solar Opposites, the Rick and Morty team confirmed during SDCC they are nearing the end of their recasting process (we will have to wait for confirmation if this means a soundalike)
- Adult Swim also released a trailer for Rick and Morty: The Anime
- Biker Mice from Mars is getting a revival with Ryan Reynolds company Maximum Effort involved to Produce
- The John Wick TV Spin-off The Continental is confirmed for September 22nd for the US as a 3 part series with some footage shown at SDCC
- There will be a number of Star Trek: The Animated Series shorts released for its 50th anniversary. Shorts will include Will Riker, Saru, Quark and Voyger’s Neelix. There is also the possibility of Lower Decks for Star Trek Day later this year that will be shown in cinemas.
- Lower Decks Season 4 will be on Paramount+ on September 7th
- Star Trek: Discover fifth and final season and Lower Decks season 4 trailers and look ahead trailers dropped on Startrek.com
- Continuing with Star Trek, there will be a musical episode of Strange New Worlds on August 3
- A Season Two sneak peak was released for Interview with a Vampire
- A Borderlands interactive series is in the works with the Borderlands movie set for August 9th, 2024
- The first 8 minutes of Season 2 of Quantum Leap was shown at SDCC (expect it to appear online in the coming weeks)
- The original Ninja Turtles cartoon rights have been picked up by Nickelodeon and Paramount and expected to be on streaming in the next month per Kevin Eastman
Comics
- Titans: Beast World is a new event happening in the Dawn of DC and will be scribed by Tom Taylor with Ivan Reis
- To go with the 30th Anniversary special of the Death of Superman last year, Dan Jurgens will be doing a 30th Anniversary special for the Return of Superman for DC (No release date however)
- Knee Before Zod is a General Zod book in the works for December 2023 with writer Joe Casey
- More details about the new Ms Marvel series with MCU Ms Marvel Imani Vellani co-writing was revealed to say you should pickup X-Men Hellfire Gala 2023 #1 before Ms Marvel: The New Mutant
- The next Marvel crossover event will be Gang War starting in Amazing Spider-Man and crossing into Luke Cage, Spider-Woman, Miles Morales and Shang Chi books
- Two Rob Liefeld books were announced for Marvel with not a lot more detail ‘Time to Kill’ and First Contact with the second showing Cable next to the very first X-Men team in black and yellow
- Marvel also announced that the Timeless series started at the beginning of this year with Kang will be part of their year ending event also
- Jamie Lee Curtis c-wrote a horror Graphic Novel ‘Mother Nature’
- Ryan North (Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and current Fantastic Four writer) is doing a Choose your own adventure Star Trek Lower Decks comic with IDW
- ‘Star Trek: The Animated Celebration Presents The Scheimer Barrier’ will debute as a digital comic on startrek.com in September with physical copies being exclusive to New York Comic Con
- Two new Spawn spin-off series are on the way focused on Sam & Twitch and Gunslinger Spawn
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is getting a sequel series under IDW with Kevin Eastman
- Spin-off series for Radiant Black are coming with Radiant Red and Radiant Pink, Rogue Sun, The Dead Lucky, Inferno Girl Red, and No/One.
- The Eisner Awards happened and Kevin Conroy won for the Finding Batman short story, Tom King for Batman: One Bad Day – The Riddler & The Human Target, the Nightwing Team for both ongoing series and Cover art, and Chip Zdarsky for Public Domain
- The new Transformers #1 under Daniel Warren Johnson at Skybound entertainment was confirmed to exist as part of the ‘Energon Universe‘ separate to what Paramount is doing
Gaming
- Mortal Kombat 1 wlll have Omni-Man, Peacemaker and Homelander with a character trailer
- One we missed from the lead-up but caught some promotion for day two is One Punch Man: World game
- 9 minutes of gameplay for the upcoming High on Life DLC ‘High on Knife’ was shown at SDCC
- The SDCC Panel for Star Wars: Outlaws saw a behind the scenes trailer showcasing a number of diverse planets and how much the player can explore them. It was also discussed how various crime syndicates will exist and investing in ones over others will change your player experience
Collectibles
- Star Trek Lower Decks figures are on the way made by EXO-6
- More cosplay than collectable but Marvel.com took to SDCC to promote a new spandex Spider-Man suit
- More Hasbro figures were announced including Blac Series Pre Viizsla, R2, Marvel Legends Blade, Clea, Luke Cage, Lady Bullseye and Chip Zdarsky run Daredevil
