Episode IX: Rise of the Skywalker gets a sneaky D23 Trailer

The Annual House of Mouse Comic-Con event D23 has just wrapped up in the US with heaps of announcements like Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk joining the MCU. But if you thought the Mandalorian (and the announcement of an Obi-Wan Disney+ series with Ewan Mcgregor) was the big Star Wars drop for the weekend then you might need to check your Midichlorian count.

Dropping late last night hidden in a ‘special look’ was the latest Episode IX trailer and oh boy does it have some stuff going on. Starting off with a retrospective of the Skywalker family (mostly Luke) the trailer changes gears from the past to the future with a lot of focus on Rey and some new Lightsabers that you are no doubt want to pick up when they drop at toy stores.

Episode IX is officially the end of the Skywalker saga according to all sources, and while we thought that about Return of the Jedi before it’s purchase by Disney the jury is out if this means the end of Jedi/Sith like stories especially with the rise of Disney+ streaming and the amount of focus it is getting from the MCU. All we know is Episode IX is out this year and December can’t come fast enough.

You can check out the full trailer below and tell us what you think in the comments. Are you more looking forward to Star Wars on Disney+ than Star Wars on the big screen? What is your favorite Lightsaber style? Is there any truth to the conspiracy theory that Jar Jar Binks is actually a Dark Lord of the Sith?
