What’s your name & how old are you? Hayley – 21

How long have you been cosplaying?  Since mid 2014!

What inspired you to start cosplaying?  I walked into Supanova 2014 guided by my friend for the League of Legends OPL finals. He told me to wear the Ahri cosplay I had made for Halloween the year before… Little did i know the amazingly accepting, friendly, conversational community that I was about to walk into.

After that day, I needed more. I needed to become part of the community too. So here I am, almost 4 years later surrounded by amazing people, I have met so many new friends and learned so many things and still early in my journey!

What was your First Cosplay? Ahri, Default Skin – League of Legends

What is your most recent cosplay? My most recent large cosplay build was my AGP Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee. I happened to place 1st at the Western Australian leg of the Championships of Cosplay and the relief from completing that build was insane!

What cosplays are you currently working on? I am currently working on a Zero Suit Samus cosplay, but also on the backburner is my Spyro Oriental Inspired Gijinka!

Who are your favourite cosplayers in the community? There are so many to name, but some of the closest to me are Scuzzi Cosplay, Em Cosplay, Cocktail Cosplay, Astrokerrie, Kebabs0verAbs, Terranous, Darkforce, GypsyGeek and so many more to list. All of these amazing local stars inspire me every day with their dedication and contribution to our fabulous Perth community.

Who else do you want to cosplay?  Some of my dream projects include Nia from Xenoblade Chronicals 2, Zelda (Twilight Princess) and Dragon Sorceress Zyra from league. I have so many characters that inspire my cosplays but those 3 are definitely my dream team!

Tell us an odd fact about yourself!  I currently study Chemical Engineering so coming from an area of maths laws, where everything is incredibly structured and follows strict sets of physical laws, I love the creative freedom that comes from cosplaying! You could say its my secret side hobby that’s not so secret and actually I’d much rather be doing that 😀

Not enough PikaPi? Follow them on FacebookInstagram and also Twitch! Want to be featured in a future cosplay spotlight? Follow us on Instagram and slide into our DMs

And don’t forget that submissions are now open for our 2019 Charity Cosplay Calendar to raise money for BeyondBlue! If you are a Cosplayer, Cosplay Group or a Photographer with a dream, we would love to hear from you.
