Big news in Minecraft today as the upcoming Discovery update will be adding the public beta of the all new Minecraft Marketplace for Mobile & Windows 10 editions (no word on XBox for the beta, sorry).
We think the success of the Minecraft Story Mode definitely had a hand in this as it isn’t a community marketplace but one for Minecraft Partner Program members. Approved publishers and creators will be able to list adventure maps, texture packs, minigames, etc all ready for purchase (yes purchase) and use.
An initial list of Minecraft Partners has already
been announced with content for the
Marketplace day one coming from anyone from Games Developers to well known Minecraft YouTubers to even more educational focused groups.
The Marketplace goes live in beta mid this month along with the update but available to all regions for both Pocket and Windows 10 editions.
