It seems so long ago that we said goodbye to Baby Yoda at the end of Season Two of the Mandalorian. While at that stage we did not know if Season Three was in the works we were definitely given something to look forward to with a new Boba Fett series in the far future. Well the future is now a long time ago in a galaxy far away and we now have our first trailer for The Book of Boba Fett.

For anyone late to the sail barge Boba Fett is best know for the original trilogy, thought to be devoured by a Sarlacc, at the time he only lived on in the extended universe (that was wiped out when Disney bought Lucasfilm). With the Armor surviving in the Mandalorian we saw Boba Fett regain his armor before the end of the season along with his new bodyguard sidekick Fennec who also first appeared in the Mandalorian (played by Mulan and Agent May, Ming-Na Wen) has since appeared in the Clone Wars spin off, The Bad Batch. The Bad Batch being set after the Clone Wars/Revenge of the Sith while the Mandalorian is set after Return of the Jedi.

The trailer really gives a lot and nothing away with the after credits of The Mandalorian that announced the Book of Fett showing Boba sitting on Jabba the Hutt’s throne to which we took it to assume his criminal empire and the new trailer pretty much backs that up. While there is a taste of the action there is the exact opposite of short negotiations. The important thing however is while we had thought the Book of Boba Fett was to be a one shot to bridge the Mandalorian it is actually going to be an 8 episode series starting just after Christmas on Disney+

You can check out the trailer but tell us what do you think? Are you hyped for a Boba Fett series? Will Boba have a different approach to Rancor keeping? When will we get an IG-88 prequel series? Let us know in the comments down below.

The Book of Boba Fett will begin on December 29th on Disney+
