Regardless of your feelings about the current state of the DCEU and it’s Suicide Squad film it’s pretty universal that everybody loves Harley Quinn. True for the Comics and Animated series if you have been to a Con in the last 2 years you know this is true for Margot Robbie’s live-action portrayal of the mentally Stockholm’d former Arkham Asylum Psychologist. So it’s no surprise to us when Harley was announced to get her own movie with a trailer dropping overnight.

Sure the film is called Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) but make no mistake this trailer is ALL about Harley. While films like Joker and potentially the upcoming ‘The Batman’ may head the DC Cinematic in a more standalone film direction, movie successes like Shazam and Aquaman following on from Man of Steel/Batman v Superman/Justice League are keeping the connected universe alive.

So what do we know about the new Harley Quinn Birds of Prey film? We know that Scott Pilgrim’s Mary Elizabeth Winstead if picking up the reins as Huntress with a Black Canary in the mix too for the Birds of Prey (No Barbara Gordon but there is a Cassandra Cain mentioned though). We know that Ewan McGregor is cast playing Batman rogue Black Mask. And going off the current trailer we know this is set after the events of Suicide Squad with Harley mentioning ni this trailer that she and Mista J broke up (probably when he left the connected Universe for his own film).

So what can you glean from the new trailer? If you are a Harley Quinn fan probably a lot because it is all about Harley. Which we are ok with but hope that future trailers give us a little more of a picture of the film’s plot that is being written by long-time and iconic Batman/Detective Comics writer Chuck Dixon.

You can check the new trailer out for yourself below but make sure you head to the comments to tell us what you think. Are you hyped for new Harley Quinn? Have you already started destroying pom-poms to update your con outfit? Are you looking forward to some Huntress and possibly Batgirl action on the big screen? Tell us in the comments below.
