It’s no news that a live-action Star Wars series was in the works. Announced some time ago at Star Wars Celebration under Jon Favreau the series would focus on the seedy underbelly of the Star Wars Universe focusing more on gangsters and smugglers than Jedi (similar to Solo). With production starting today we just got our first look.

The newly titled The Mandalorian is set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens according to a title card posted by Favreau on his Facebook just before the official Star Wars Instagram released this new image today. While we could tell you what it says we feel pretty confident you would rather read it in the Star Wars yellow font.

While the series is written and produced by Iron Man’s Jon Favreau each episode will be directed by different people with the starting line up of directors starting with The Clone Wars/Rebels director Dave Filoni and additional directors including Jessica Jones’ Deborah Chow and Thor Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi.

We don’t know much else about the series right now except with production starting we are hoping to see something in 2019.
