Warhammer Fest Europe Announcements

For those of you not able to make it to Dusseldorf over the weekend for Europe’s inaugural Warhammer Fest, we have the inside scoop. Epic battles were fought in tournaments for both Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar, and the Slayer Sword went to a very impressive Khorne diorama.  There were also a few announcements for hobbyists around the world.

Adeptus Titanicus, Games Workshop’s latest game featuring epic battles where you command a titan legion is set to receive reinforcements in the form of the Warhound titan. The preview miniatures look great, and won’t be too far away from release. But titans also need somewhere to shoot at each other. Forge World will be releasing a pair of gaming boards specifically designed for titan combat.

Kill Team: Rogue Trader also got an official announcement, including a funky trailer and arelease date set for September. The boxed set will contain a Rogue Trader kill team facing off against mutated servants of Nurgle. It includes a complete narrative campaign to take the teams through as well as a pair of Killzones to play in.

Kill Team starter sets for Deathwatch and Drukhari will also be available for preorder next week. Killzone: Death World Forest and dice for each Kill Team will be available for preorder at the same time. There’s plenty of options available for building a Kill Team before the first organised play season starts at local GW/Warhammer stores around the world.

Change is coming to Warhammer Underworlds, but we only have a teaser trailer at this point. Whatever new cards, warbands, and so on will be in Warhammer Underworlds:Nightvault is a great mystery at this point.

Which brings us to the next mystery. GW have revealed a new endless spell miniature on its way in Q3-Q4 this year. There is some speculation that an old foe will return, but no one can say for sure. Whatever faction this new endless spell belongs to, it’s a great looking miniature, and it will be great to see what will be coming next in the Age of Sigmar.

Warhammer 40,000 has announced some exciting upcoming releases as well. Speed Freeks! will spearhead a range of exciting new greenskin releases in Orktober. The boxed set will contain the seriously impressive new ork vehicles that will impress greenskin players and opponents alike. They are just that cool!

Emperor willing, 2019 will see the release of Sisters of Battle for Warhammer 40,000. Patient fans of the Emperer’s most devout followers (sorry Black Templars) were rewarded with a taste of what’s to come. A number of bolters, flamers, and other weapons were teased in all their glory. The detail on these is exquisite. 2019 is going to be a very exciting time for the Emperor’s faithful.

Also in 40k, the popular Space Marine Heroes blind booster packs will be made available outside Japan soon. These miniatures have been big in Japan, and it’s not hard to see why. Some of these models would look really great in a Kill Team.

Coming in last place, but probably not for long, we have the Nurgle’s Rotters Blood Bowl team. The malignant misfit team contains a variety of Nurgle’s finest, there’s even a pestigor! The team will be oozing onto the pitch soon.
