SDCC 2018 Day Three Wrap-up


The 2018 San Diego Comic-Con has wrapped up for another year! It’s been a crazy few days of amazing movie, comic, game and TV news! The Con may be over, but we are left with all the excitement and anticipation for the next year in Pop Culture.

  • With the Death of Superman premiere last night (which is due to be available next week) a slew of DC Animated movies were announced for 2019 to go with part two of Death of Superman, Reign of the Supermen. The 12 part Batman Hush comic will be turned into a stand along movie along with Justice League vs. The Fatal Five and Wonder Woman: Bloodlines
  • DCEU gets a new name of World of DC with the DCEU being a name coined by a journalist this is the first name to the DC Cinematic Universe given by DC
  • The full first Official Trailer for Aquaman is show ahead of the movie release later this year, and it looks like DC has dropped it’s dark tones
  • Also in the new look WoDC the new Trailer for Shazam has some Batman and Superman easter eggs and looks really good
  • Another still from John Wick 3 surfaced which follows the Horse theme of the last
  • The first picture of the live action Kim Possible movie shows the live action vs animated Kim
  • M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass got a SDCC exclusive Alex Ross Poster
  • Fantastic Beasts 2 gets it’s SDCC trailer with a lot more Hogwarts and a second new Poster
  • Wonder Woman 1984 footage was shown as a Hall H exclusive with Wonder Woman flying into a mall, saving a kid, as an exclusive don’t expect to see that outside of SDCC
  • The next Halloween movie got some exclusive Hall H footage
  • As did the Joe and Anthony Russo backed Assassination Nation
  • Also in Hall H exclusives the LEGO Movie 2 gave some early footage of the Mad Max with LEGO world poking fun at Jurassic Park and Pratt’s Emmett makes reference to being a Raptor Trainer
  • And lastly for Hall H exclusives some footage for the delayed Alita: Battle Angel was show but a trailer is due on Monday/Tuesday
  • The Next Godzilla/King Kong shared universe movie released an Official Trailer to go with the teaser from Friday showing us a lot more of Godzilla: King of Monsters
  • Not wrong to be under movies with the next chapter of Steven Universe to be a movie which was teased (for release on Cartoon Network but that could change with the Teen Titans Go movie shown at SDCC already getting 100% on Rotten Tomatoes)
  • And Disney announces screen accurate prop replicas available via the new Masterworks collection store, before you rush to order the smallest item, a ring from Black Panther, goes for $1450 USD and we hope the Eye of Agamotto contains an actual Time Stone for it’s price


  • Season 2 of The Gifted got a SDCC Trailer which looks like it’s aiming to be bigger than last
  • Coulson/Clark Gregg will direct the Season 6 premiere of Agents of SHIELD
  • Arrow Season 7 gets a SDCC trailer and looking to follow the footsteps of the cancelled Green Arrow/Supermax movie
  • The SDCC Supergirl Season 4 trailer also appeared at the CW TV Panel
  • As did the Legends of Tomorrow SDCC Trailer with more Constantine
  • Black Lightning SDCC trailer for Season 2 recapping season one
  • And Flash SDCC trailer continues where the last season left off
  • Lobo is confirmed as a bad guy for Krypton season 2
  • The Good Place shows a Season 2 Gag Reel straight from The Medium Place
  • Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s Cosmo got the SDCC Trailer treatment
  • Wynonna Earp renewed for season 4 and Funko Pops announced
  • A second Russo Bros project for this year’s SDCC was the assassin’s school of Deadly Class on SYFY
  • Season 2 of the Orville got it’s SDCC trailer and we are kinda looking forward to it
  • Netflix releases the first trailer for The Dragon Prince from the team behind The Last Airbender
  • Netflix also gave more Disenchantment ahead of the show premiere in August with a new Trailer and a pretty good cover version of Rebel Rebel
  • First trailer for the reboot of the CW Roswell show appears
  • The next from the Vampire Diaries/The Originals creators, Legacies showed a Comic-Con trailer which is more about Supernatural/Magic than vampires



That it for SDCC, the biggest pop culture event of the year which was just jam-packed full of surprises!
