After having a couple weeks off and a Happy Easter we bring to you our Australian Owned – CosFriday! With the Commonwealth Games taking over in the Sunshine State it is time to head south of the border to and hop over New South Wales to Victoria! This week we present TJ Cosplay!
TJ from TJ Cosplay is from the City by the Bay, the capitol of Victoria: Melbourne! A costumer whom varies in costumes from Anime to Comics, Movies to TV Shows. TJ dips into all sides of pop culture to show her true colours as a costumer!
What’s your name & how old are you? TJ Cosplay and I’m in my late 20’s.
How long have you been cosplaying? About 10 years, I believe.
What inspired you to start cosplaying? I always loved playing dress ups and performing, and have loved a lot of pop culture since I was a wee lass, so it was a natural progression.
What was your First Cosplay? My first costume made to be worn at a convention was Robin Sena from Witch Hunter Robin.
What is your most recent cosplay? I am often working on more than one at a time, but the mostly recently finished one was Princess Leia form the comic series.
What cosplays are you currently working on? A Kylo Ren gender bend (Kylie Ren), Raven from DC comics, I just saw Peggy Carter as Captain America too, so that’s been bumped up the list, and I’m updating a few older cosplays of mine like Black Cat and Belle.
Who are your favourite cosplayers in the community? I basically look up to everyone, friends or otherwise! Big shout out to Cowbuttcrunchies for being amazing at everything, and giving me great wig styling tips and inspiration. The sewing/craft costumes they made for Katsu were freaking gorgeous. Also, AK Wirru, just because his perseverance and work ethic is super admirable, as well as being an amazing craftsman. Let’s also say Flocks Locksy because I am SUPER EXCITED for
her Admiral Holdo, and Major Sam is forever my sewing goals. I’m looking forward to her Captain Amelia and period era Belle!
Who else do you want to cosplay? Oh my, that list is huge! The few that I am most focused on include Senator Amidala, Avengers NOW! Rogue, a version of Wonder Woman, Symbiote Black Cat, several gender bends of Jack Harkness, Claude Frollo and Hux, a bunny version of Kylo Ren…the list is VERY long!
Tell us an odd fact about yourself! Not so much odd, but unknown by a lot of people. I have been training and practising in dancing for over 20 years!
