It’s been a whole 24 hours without some sort of Star Wars news so we were about due. While we were expecting more details on Han Solo overnight via the Star Wars official YouTube channel news dropped as to the future of the Star Wars universe post Skywalkers.
Without question Episodes I through to the Last Jedi have still been part of the Skywalker story following Anakin and then Luke with only recently side stories such as Rogue One and the upcoming Solo being the only exceptions on the big screen. With the events of The Last Jedi and the off camera events with the Skywalker family episode IX looks to be the end of this saga, but this can not be the end of Star Wars right?
With an unconfirmed mention of the Rian Johnson Star Wars Trilogy news today dropped that Game of Thrones show runners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be heading a new trilogy. This new series will be separate from the as yet unknown Rian Johnson trilogy as well as the existing Skywalker saga.

Right now this is all the information available with Star Wars Celebration in May no doubt set to outline the plans for the next 6 or more Star Wars films to come. But until then, we will just have to settle for watching the Han Solo teaser over and over again.
