“When people ask me if I went to film school, I tell them no, I went to films.”
– Quentin Tarantino
Truly one of the greatest filmmakers of any generation, but most certainly ours, is Mr Quentin Tarantino. One of the few writer-directors whose name is as recognisable as the actors in his films, QT is a pop culture genre of his own. With some of the funniest, coolest and most intelligent dialogue in modern cinema, his eight films have spanned thee fun-filled decades in a series of features that run so beautifully one after the other in a delectable story of his film making career, they could have been taken from the pages of one of his own perfectly written screenplays.
Screening predominantly in his format of choice, celluloid film, over the next four months we will revisit his eight film masterpieces on our big screen, starting off with super rare print screenings of his original three films RESERVOIR DOGS, PULP FICTION & JACKIE BROWN. Then followed on by two double features; KILL BILL 1 & 2 back to back on an extremely rare set of 35mm prints, as well as the original GRINDHOUSE Full Double Feature Roadshow (with trailers and all) in original celluloid too. Then finally we’ll finish up with his three action-epics INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, DJANGO UNCHAINED and of course THE HATEFUL EIGHT running as the extended 70mm Roadshow with overture, intermission and extended footage which can only be seen on the cinema screen.
We are thrilled to present our next Ritz Film Series, WE ❤ TARANTINO screening from April to July, in the uber-anticipated lead-up to his 9th feature film as writer director, ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD, releasing on August 15.
