This week in new games feels like getting chased through haunted cabins, drafted into boot camp, yeeted into VR parkour, lost in a Pokémon gentrification project and then accidentally deleting yourself from a cursed desktop — with a pig and a sentient lighthouse for emotional support. But before we get to the full list, here are your highlights:
If Bathurst weekend left you craving the need for speed (wait, wrong Tom Cruise movie…) but your idea of a sharp turn is still only left, NASCAR 25 is gunning it onto PS5 Monday and Xbox Tuesday. This is the full four-series package from iRacing, with laser-scanned tracks, pro-tuned physics, and career mode drama straight out of a garage soap opera. It’s high-speed left turns and right-on realism.
A reaper and a pig walk into an 8-bit dungeon… Spindle hits Nintendo Switch and Steam Tuesday with pixel-slashing vibes and existential baggage. You’re Death (sort of), your sidekick oinks, and the world’s stuck in an undead limbo. Expect puzzles, bosses, secrets, and surprisingly the occasional llama.
If you’ve ever wished Two Point Hospital came with camo and explosives, One Military Camp reports for duty on Xbox Wednesday and PlayStation Thursday. Build, manage, train and yell motivational things at your rookies as you turn a dusty outpost into a war machine with personality. It’s like Command and Conquer-Lite.
If Cabin in the Woods got turned into a weirdly bureaucratic walking sim, The Cabin Factory would be it. Out Thursday on Xbox and Friday on PS4, you’re a Cabin Inspector (yep, that’s a job) tasked with spotting haunted anomalies and bailing fast if things get creepy. It’s short, eerie, and just unsettling enough to make you question every lamp placement. Oh and if you wanted it for Steam it is already out (and on sale for super cheap).
Pokémon Legends: Z-A lands Thursday on Switch and Switch 2, tossing you into Lumiose City mid-renovation with your choice of starter and a whole lot of urban Pokémon chaos. Explore, throw balls, catch them all. You know the drill.
If your VR headset’s been gathering more dust than playtime, Reach might be the one to get you off the couch and into TV-striking distance. Dropping Thursday on Steam VR and Friday on PS VR, PS VR2 and PS5, it’s a cinematic action-adventure with climbing, ziplines, magic powers and a very real risk to your living room furniture.
Lastly, Bit Esc drops Friday on Xbox and Saturday on Steam with a pixelated rebellion that feels like Super Meat Boy crashed into Windows 95. You’re a rogue data bit hopping across desktops, recycle bins and cursed retro vibes with tight platforming, suspicious NPCs and just enough existential dread to keep things spicy.
Honourable Mention: And our honourable mention this week is Keeper — a beautifully spooky puzzle adventure where a sentient lighthouse teams up with a bird for some reason. Out Friday on Xbox and Saturday on Steam, it’s got Tim Burton vibes, zero dialogue, and that classic Double Fine weirdness that usually ends up becoming someone’s favourite game ever.
