This week of new game releases feature have you cleaning up the afterlife as a mischievous kitteh, wielding chaos as a gun-toting squirrel, smashing things up in monster trucks, and exploring a galaxy far, far away—plus some robot mayhem and high-octane stunts thrown in. But before we get to the full video game release dates for this week, here are your highlights:
Do you want to play as a cute little black kitteh cleaning up the afterlife? Of course you do! Crypt Custodian drops this Tuesday on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation, Switch, and Steam. Play as Pluto, a mischievous cat sentenced to eternal janitorial duty in the afterlife. Battle beasts, solve puzzles, and explore a secret-filled landscape as you try to break back into the palace you were banished from!
The big one this week is Star Wars Outlaws, hitting PlayStation on Thursday and Xbox Series X|S and Epic Games Store on Saturday. If you’ve been hanging out for an open-world Star Wars RPG from the folks who made The Division, this is the one you’ve been waiting for all year. Step into the boots of scoundrel Kay Vess, taking on the galaxy’s crime syndicates, pulling off high-stakes heists, and getting into epic dogfights. The only downside? The price tag’s a bit steep, especially with the season pack and extra content. But hey, if you’re all in, maybe you spread the pain and buy it in installments.
Do you want to think less and just smash things up with monster trucks? Of course you do! Monster Jam™ Showdown roars onto PlayStation, Epic Games Store, Switch, and Steam this Thursday, with Xbox Series X|S on Friday. If you know your monster trucks by name you can jump into iconic trucks like Grave Digger™ and El Toro Loco™ and unleash chaos in an off-road arcade racing frenzy.
AkimBot is blasting onto Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC, and Steam this Friday. In this high-octane 3D platformer, you’ll play as Exe, an outlaw robot on a mission to save the universe from impending doom. We are not going to lie, you might find yourself thinking it’s like asking for Ratchet & Clank and being told “No, we have Ratchet & Clank at home” but sometimes you just want to be a little robot with an arsenal of high-powered weapons adventuring through the galaxy!
Honourable Mention: And our honourable mention this week goes to Squirrel with a Gun, launching this Friday on Epic Games Store and Steam. Imagine Goat Simulator but with a gun—and you’re the squirrel. In this nutty sandbox shooter and puzzle platformer, you’ll cause mayhem in pursuit of golden acorns, fight off Agents, and even blow up a tank. We would tell you that this is a platform puzzler but you know it is all about embracing chaos.
