Pixel based Platformers and Boxing simulators, Early Access shooters with friends, rotoscoped mysteries and land on an alien world and amass a Pikmin army is just some of the ways you might spend this week in gaming. But before we get to the full list, here are your highlights:
Still want to play Diablo 4 to team up with friends but a little over swords and magic? If this is you than Blackout Protocol out on Steam this Thursday might be the ticket. Coming into Early Access this is a top down shooter to play with up to 2 other friends as you blaze your way through a top secret research facility.
And starting the week with some a little more story driven is Frank and Drake a mystery/graphic novel almost game with a branching paths. While we have seen this kind of game a lot there is something a bit different with this one in the art style that caught our attention with a sort of rotoscoped/a scanner darkly art and animation style. You can check this out on PlayStation or via Steam on Thursday.
If you are up for the world exploring and training aspects of the latest Street Fighter but wished it was a lot more like Punch-out than Punch Club 2: Fast Forward may be your game for this week. Dropping for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and Steam on Friday this is a little retro with a combat system akin to early SCUMM adventures but sometimes you just want that.
And also on Friday is your big title for this week with the recently announced and now ready for you to play, Pikmin 4. If you are not familiar with Pikmin you are an explorer who amasses an army of Pikmin to help you explore, solve puzzles and basically make do stuff. Pikmin 4 is out only for the Nintendo Switch.
Honourable Mention: And our honourable mention this week goes to something with some Another World vibes in Full Void. Following the platformer puzzler style gameplay this is another retro styled game this week following a teenager who is all alone in defeating a rogue AI. It is out on Tuesday only via Steam.
