Explore the dark forrests to solve a missing villiage, crew up with pirates and their rubber limbed captain and drive through another forrest listening to your radio for your first games for 2023 this week. But before we get to the full list, here are your highlights:
Starting your new year gaming late on Thursday with Children of Silentown you play as Lucy who is afraid of the forrest like any normal small child. But as people start disappearing in the village Lucy is left to investigate in this (slightly grim) hand drawn point and click adventure game. Get it on Xbox, PlayStation, for the Switch via Steam and from the Epic Games Store (so pretty much everywhere) this Thursday.
It feels like it hasn’t even been a year since our last One Piece game and already this Friday you are getting another one with One Piece Odyssey coming out this Friday. Commemorating the 25th anniversary Odyssey is a RPG/JRPG from Bandai having you play through not only a ‘main episode’ but ‘side episodes’ and battles to further immerse in the One Piece universe. Get this one on PlayStation on Thursday, Steam on Friday and Xbox on Saturday.
Honourable Mention: And our honourable mention this week goes to something a little more horror based with the driving at night horror of Chasing Static. We saw this on Steam a while back but the premise is simple as you are driving around in the dead of night in a town in north wales. You find yourself chasing a glowing eyed monster with northing more than your car and a frequency analyser, yep this is a sound based thriller. It is out on Xbox and for the Switch on Friday.
