[preamble] But before we get to the full list, here are your highlights:
Starting the week with not quite a full game but the next season of Destiny 2 is Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. You know what this is, more dungeons, more enemies, more loot and if you are already addicted to Destiny 2 you probably already have it pre-ordered for when it drops on Wednesday for PlayStation, Xbox and via Steam.
And on Thursday – Martha is Dead, is also the title of this game coming out for PlayStation and via Steam. Set in a dark 1944 Italy it blurs the line between superstition and the horror of war with a desecrated body of a woman is found dead (Martha) and you play as her twin sister Giulia the daughter of a German soldier who deals with the trauma and loss. Basically not happy fun times, but just the thing for those who love psychological thriller games.
If fantasy is your jam then on Friday Elden Ring comes to next gen consoles. Made in collaboration with George RR Martin (because he will do almost anything to avoid finishing that last book) Elden Ring puts you in the Lands Between where the Elden Ring has been destroyed and shards of it possessed by the offspring of the Queen of the Eternal. Basically blend Dark Souls and Elder Scrolls then blend in some Sekiro like gameplay and you have this one coming to Xbox, PlayStation and Steam on Friday.
Honourable Mention: And our honourable mention this week goes to some PSVR because it’s not that often we get one of those and if you don’t mind clawing at the dash and screaming like a cheerleader you are probably up for Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual. If you played this on the Oculus Quest then there is nothing to see here but if not it has been a long wait for PS owning Sam & Max fans since The Devil’s Playhouse was released in 2009.
