With everyone being locked in doors the waning levels of LEGO in stores and online with larger sets that some might save for a special occasion being snapped up as a source of entertainment in lieu of going outside. Just when you thought you you might have to start on doing actual home improvements a new home has emerged on the desert planet of Tatooine.
Coming in at 3,187 pieces is the latest set from LEGO that is a must have for any Star Wars fan with the Mos Eisley Cantina playset. A far cry from the 2014 model LEGO Cantina set this set comes with the ENTIRE CANTINA that opens and closes up to give you access to the entire layout to a roughly 52cm x 58cm x 19cm footprint.
From booths to the bar to where Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes aka the Cantina Band play is available for you to put any of the 21 Minifigs that come with this set. Yes, 21. That is a lot of Minifigs. Sure you get Han, Luke, Obi-Wan, Chewie, 3PO and R2 but also the bartender, Greedo, the Band and a slew more characters that only the most passionate Star Wars fan that knew who Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes were without being told the Cantina Band would know.
With the set being able to be open or closed to give the outer appearance of the cantina with it’s adjoining structures but you also get several outside details as well including a Sandtrooper with Dewback and a landspeeder (not Luke’s one he sold that). Seriously you get a LOT of stuff in this set.
Retailing for $529.99 AUD and already available for preorder on the LEGO store this set is due for release in only a few weeks on October 1st and we are having a hard time telling you it isn’t something you need in your life. Yes, give into your feelings with each passing moment you make yourself want this more.
Can you perform detailed CSI like presentations to your friends and family as to why Han Shot first with this set? Yes. Can you overrule Wuher’s possibly racist policies on Droids in the bar? Yes. Could you play the Cantina music on an endless loop in your home and say you need it to set the ambience? Of course. Can you cut off Ponda Baba’s arm off with a lightsaber? Look… they don’t say the arm can be removed from the minifig, but they don’t say that it can’t either. And maybe that is reason enough to get this set to find out.
