It’s been a good week for trailers and while we don’t have that illusive Avengers 4 trailer (confirmed to be coming out before the end of the year by the Russos). It’s not over yet with Disney getting one more out before they take a Thanksgiving break, with the teaser trailer for the live action adaption of The Lion King.
Directed by Iron Man director Jon Favreau we knew this live-action adaption of the original film was coming. After the success of the Jungle Book also by Favreau it was quickly announced by Disney that the adaption of the 1994Â animated film. The third live action adaption of a previous Disney animated film (Beauty and the Beast is included in that count) it does not look like Disney will be slowing down any time, especially with the potential that the Lion King has not just with fans of the animated but remembering it’s Broadway show also.
While just a teaser we can see that the live action film is going the path of staying true to the animated film. With the live action adaption of The Jungle Book Favreau aimed for a middle ground of staying true to the Disney animated adaption and the original source material by Rudyard Kipling. But with the Lion King being the first original animated film not based on an existing work (except borrowing from Shakespeare) we are expecting a pretty close match.
