Event Details

Palace Central presents 666 FRIDAYS, curated by Static Vision, where you’ll find the most devious, deranged and demonic horror and genre flicks this side of Transylvania, from May 17th – July 26th in our 66-seat theatrette of terror, Cinema 6(66). This time around, we’re bringing seven terrifying classics back to the big screen, in celebration of their 10th, 20th, 25th, 30th and 40th anniversaries, every other Friday at 8.30pm.

The Loved Ones | 10th Anniversary Screening (Q&A with director Sean Byrne)
In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Palace Central (in collaboration with Static Vision) are proud to present a one-off screening of The Loved Ones – the finest Australian horror movie of the past decade – followed by an exclusive live Skype Q&A with director Sean Byrne. When Brent (Xavier Samuel) rejects Lola (Robin McLeavy) after she asks him to prom, Daddy (John Brumpton) kidnaps Brent, forcing him to be the King to Lola’s Queen, whether he likes it or not. A gleefully blood thirsty, skull-drilling horror film, with more than its fair share of laughs throughout, The Loved Ones is to Australian suburbia as Wake in Fright is to the outback. Join us as we pay tribute to this criminally under-appreciated, warped little gem, with Australian horror legend Sean Byrne Skyping in after the feature for an extended Q&A!
