What’s On: Dec 18 – 24

It’s your final what’s on for the decade and between Star Wars Episode IX, The Witcher and more on Netflix it’s a good thing you have some days off to look forward to. Here is your guide to everything happening this week in Geek across Australia.

1On Streaming/TV

Start your week in streaming on Friday with a holiday gift of the first season of The Witcher with the Man of Steel, Henry Cavill. Based on the Series, the Game, the Gwent we have high hopes for this one and the previews so far have been looking great. If you are looking for a new sword and sorcery series to obsess over this has a lot of lore once you finish your binge session.

Wubba Dubba Lub Lub and Get Shwifty on Sunday when Rick and Morty Season 4 officially (and legally) comes to Australia small screens. Playing on Netflix you aren’t getting the complete season but the first half has officially dropped for the US so we are expecting some of that 99 years Rick and Morty to catch up.

And if you are planning on staying in this Christmas Eve you can binge the new season of Lost in Space also on Netflix. If you haven’t seen season one (or managed to avoid the sexy robot memes) you can still binge up ready for the new season, it’s definitely worth it.

2In Cinemas

Forty Years, 8 Films, 2 spin-offs and at least one Baby Yoda later we have the epic finale to a little known series you might have heard of – Star Wars. Starting with Midnight sessions at 12:01am this Wednesday night for the official start on Thursday Star Wars: Episode IX – Rise of Skywalker brings the Skywalker saga to a close. Does this mean the end of Star Wars? There are probably still a lot of stories left from a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.

3Stuff To Go Do

And finally, if you need to get out and pick up some last-minute gifts this weekend can we recommend you drop by IndieComicCon in Melbourne this week for all things from some local indie comic creators. This one has over 70 creators so you are bound to find something you can enjoy and enjoy giving too because you doesn’t want comics for Christmas.
