Heroes never die — in the Marvel Studios’ Black Widow trailer

The official Marvel Studios’ Black Widow teaser trailer has dropped today and it looks like we are in for some wild ride!

This is the first look at the long-awaited movie focusing on one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first Avengers on the scene and the first major female character in the franchise. Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as the mysterious Russian operative, Natasha Romanoff—a character which grew out of a secondary role in Iron Man 2 to become the Avenger who sacrifices herself to save the universe as we know it in Avengers End Game.

The upcoming film is directed by Australian Cate Shortland (Somersault, Berlin Syndrome) and the scrip was written by Jac Schaeffer, whose recent credits include the odd-couple comedy The Hustle. The teaser reveals a little snippet of the action, violence and intrigue we can expect from an MCU feature about a Russian spy. We also gain a little piece of insight into the characters clouded past and get a glimpse of Johansson’s co-stars, including Natasha Romanoff’s “sister” played by Florence Pugh. Also starting in the film are Rachel Weisz and Stranger Things’ David Harbour as the character Red Guardian.
