Saturday

And on Saturday in Brisbane get your flipper fingers primed for 24 hours of Pinball madness with Death by Pinball at Netherworld. This ticketed event is only for the chosen few with the Bar closed to the public for this 9am until 9am event.

Sunday

2. New South Wales & ACT

Nothing says Easter like a Nerf War and if you are in Wagga Wagga (or can get there in time) you can show off your foam warfare skills. Aimed for all ages but recommended for 12 and up this event is put on by the Riverina Dart Tag group, so you might meet some like minded Nerf fans.

Looking for somewhere to watch the OPL Finals? Sydney‘s Spawn Point Bar will be hosting a viewing party to watch the Direwolves in their finals play off. This free event is kicking off at 5pm on Saturday.

Sunday

Looking for some Melbourne Comedy Festival geeky goodness? On Thursday you can get to Completely Improvised Potter, for a serving of polyjuice with a hint of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named for this show bringing you some fresh new adventures from Hogwarts.

Want something more Donkey Kong and Time Travel we can recommend James Veitch also this Thursday (and a few other date). Appearing at the Melbourne Comedy Festival after shows at the Adelaide Fringe get a ticket for our favourite SPAM replying TEDTalker.

Thursday is the new Friday, with the long weekend the BETA Bar in Melbourne is getting your weekend started early with their Walking Dead Party. Like always cosplay will get you cheaper entry but with the Zombie FX Booth you can really kick your costume up a notch before hitting the dance floor.

Friday

Starting Friday there is not one massive long weekend table gaming event in Melbourne but TWO massive long weekend tabletop gaming events in Melbourne for you to choose from! OzBunnyCon (which is wrapping in MeepleCon) and presented by Melbourne Meeples starts on Friday and runs for four days of board gaming awesomeness. Or for some Tabletop gaming you can try Conquest 2018 for a day or the whole weekend with both events starting Friday and finishing on Monday and both in Melbourne.

And just one more thing for Friday in Melbourne.. Every Friday Night until June is an after hours night for the Melbourne Planetarium. This 18+ event will let you pickup a drink from the Planetarium bar and then take you through the night sky. Booking is essential.

Saturday

DC vs Marvel! Batman vs Superman! New 52 vs. Pre 52! This Saturday it is time for the Great Super Hero Debate at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. This show from the UK and following on from a season at the Adelaide Fringe touches on everything Avengers, X-Men, Justice League and everything in between.

Want some Mystery Science Theatre style comedy at the Melbourne Comedy Festival? This Saturday (and the next few) you can join Comedians Talking Over Movies, which movies? We don’t know! But you can find out on Saturday.

Sunday

Grab your weapon of choice this Sunday for International Pillow fight Day. Falling on April Fools Day, keep your wits about you.

You know what your long weekend needs? Lasers. At the Melbourne Scienceworks this Sunday checkout the LightTime exhibition with 11 Melbourne based artists combining LEDs, lights, lasers and just everything pew pew pew for some unique holographic effects. Pickup some tickets now from the Melbourne Museum website.

And more next week but starting on Sunday is the week long Swordcraft Quest April 2018. This week long event at Kryal Castle near Ballarat is the Live Action Role Play event with LARPers from all over Australia coming to camp, eat, roleplay and adventure!

Now running until August the WA Maritime Museum in Perth is playing host to Horrible Histories Pirate Exhibition for you to learn more about all things Piratey…. Eye patches and peg legs are not required but it also says they aren’t not NOT required.

And Saturday is also Respawn’s 4th Birthday! Hit up Perth’s ongoing Video Game/Pop Culture event at their new location upstairs in Perth‘s Aberdeen Hotel. Oh and there is going to be more than cake and lolly bags (yes there will be lolly bags) as they are giving away a Nintendo Switch to someone attending this weekend!
