So you think you missed it? Nope! It is now Friday once again! Surprise! You did it! Surviving the grind of the week to end up on the day before your rest! So here we are, another fantastic cosplayer from the Eastern Seaboard! This week we present CB Studios Cosplay!
Curt, from CB Studios Cosplay, is from the River City; Brisbane and was a Supanova Cosplay Ambassador along side Floksy Locksy for the 2017 con year! He has judged many costume events over the years and even attended the 2014 Eurocosplay Championships at London MCM Comic-Con as a co-judge!
What’s your name & how old are you? Curt, and I’m 28
How long have you been cosplaying? I’ve been cosplaying at conventions since 2004, which gives me about 14 years of actually cosplaying
What inspired you to start cosplaying? I always wanted to own a Darth Vader costume, and as I was a broke kid at the time, the only option I had was to build one myself. It’s still an ongoing pet project of mine
What was your First Cosplay? My first proper cosplay was Darth Vader, I wore it to Brisbane Supanova in 2004
What is your most recent cosplay? The latest one I’ve finished is Ash Williams from Ash Vs Evil Dead, and Beetlejuice in his Graveyard Guide outfit
What cosplays are you currently working on? I’m currently building a newer version of Mr Lordi from the Finnish metal band Lordi and a screen accurate Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the sith, as well as a few super secret builds, as always.
Who are your favourite cosplayers in the community? I’ve got so many people I look up to, both Australian and international, literally every cosplayer has a brilliant skill or technique that they absolutely rock at, but a few of the favourites I have are Vera Chimera, Keith Zen, Major Sam Cosplay and Adam Savage. They’re all at the top of their game, and always super helpful and kind to their fans
Who else do you want to cosplay? I’d love to finish a full Ironman suit someday, as well as finishing a totally screen accurate Army of Darkness Ash. Skeletor from He-Man is way up that list too, same with GWAR’s late front man, Oderous.
Tell us an odd fact about yourself! I absolutely love odd hats, I’ve somehow always manage to pick up odd and weird headpieces, and somehow seem to choose characters that wear weird hats.
