Wednesday

Aether Brewing in Brisbane again is bringing out the classics with warmer weather and this week it is The Castle. Don’t forget your jousting sticks and head straight for the pool room this Wednesday for a cult classic.

Thursday

Happy Birthday Doctor Who! Turning 54 today! Many happy regenerations!

Netherworld are bringing you the best of local game developers with their fifth Indie developer night. Check out what’s new on the local gaming scene this Thursday night in Brisbane.

Friday

And a day later to celebrate Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversary you can catch an animated event Doctor Who: Shada at limited cinemas across Australia including Myer Centre Event Cinemas in Brisbane this Friday only.

Also this Friday at Brisbane‘s Event Cinemas Myer Centre but not Doctor Who related, In the House is drawing to a close with it’s penultimate screening of The Warriors! With only one more movie to go before it ends, best to get all your cult classics in before the year runs out.

Saturday

Get your Arnie fix this Saturday with a double feature of vintage Arnold in Pumping Iron followed by Hercules in New York at the Metro Arts in Brisbane. Before The Predator, The Terminator and Conan Arnie was a demigod who came to earth to find love and a promising career in bodybuilding – jump back to that time this Saturday.

Sunday

If you haven’t seen Hayao Miyazaki masterpiece Spirited Away then head to the Elizabeth Street Cinema in Brisbane this Sunday. Playing for limited sessions at the newly renovated and restored cinema in the heart of Brisbane make sure you grab tickets as soon as they are available.

And lastly, Brisbane‘s 1-Up Arcade is playing host to a massive Injustice 2 Tournament this Sunday! Register to play but come to win this Sunday. Oh and while you are there check out the Geek Society Indie Arcade!

2. New South Wales & ACT

Follow the White Rabbit on Wednesday to the Reload Bar for a screening of The Matrix. This completely free screening is happening in Canberra.

It’s Cosplay Night at Spawn Point in Sydney! With secret judges and awesome prizes, come to hang out and play games or come to win but either way make sure you make your way there this Saturday night.

In Canberra this Sunday? Head to Impact Comic Festival 2017! With GAMMA Con Cosplay, Comics and Music from Meri Amber! Sounds like the perfect Sunday to us.

School’s out in Sydney with the Doctor Who Club of Australia holding a special event to celebrate the Doctor’s 54th Anniversary. From Pop Vinyl to Graphic Novels in collectors and the first ever Pop Culture Spelling Bee, if you love all things Doctor this is for you this Sunday.
