If you are in Melbourne you are probably already super hyped for Melbourne Supanova tomorrow so today we bring you the only person you want to see in the event of a Cosplay blowout (who is also going to be at Supanova). The Batman of Cosplay Repair. Founder of the International Cosplay Corps. The one and only, Captain Patch-It
What’s your name & how old are you? Captain Patch-It! And I just turned three years old a couple weeks ago!
How long have you been cosplaying? Just over three years! I first started at Supanova Melbourne back in 2014, so a little while now!
What inspired you to start cosplaying? I was mainly born out of a need for someone to help take care of cosplayers.. There wasn’t much of a service for helping out others during a convention, so I was pretty much created for that purpose!
Who was your first cosplay? My first outfit was very basic – a military-style outfit with a SWAT-style vest and all the pouches I’d ever need to carry all my gear!
What is your most recent cosplay? Last year I ended up doing a pirate-styled outfit which involved a pretty sweet jacket, awesome hat and a secret teacup holder!
Who are your favourite cosplayers in the community? To be honest? I don’t really have a favourite.. There’s so many out there that I enjoy catching up with and seeing at conventions that I don’t think I could list them all in one go without forgetting someone!
What cosplay are you currently working on? I’m slowly working on this year’s outfit… I’m running a bit late but it’ll get done soon! As for what it is? That’s a secret!
What is your dream cosplay? I think I’ve already achieved it! I’m pretty happy with my swanky pirate jacket at the moment! The only thing I could improve on would probably be getting more pockets!
Tell us an interesting fact! Brigadier Sir Nils Olav is the Colonel-in-Chief of the Norwegian King’s Guard. He was knighted in 2008. He is also a Penguin.
