But for now, here is everything happening across Australia this week.

1. Queensland

Wednesday

Wednesday is everyone’s favourite holiday, The Festival of Sleep! Not sure how to celebrate? Well if you are reading this you might need to go back to bed.

Still haven’t caught the brilliant remake of the worst movie ever made? You can catch screenings of James Franco’s The Disaster Artist at the Moonlight Outdoor Cinema this Wednesday in Brisbane.

Thursday

If you have Foxtel Mulder and Scully continue with Season 11 of The X-Files on Showcase this Thursday night. Much like Season 10, returning after 14 years… Season 11 is pretty short with only 5 episodes. So make sure you cram them into your eyeballs right away.

Also on Foxtel but maybe not for the purists the remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show shows up this Thursday night. While Tim Curry doesn’t play Dr. Frank-N-Furter he does appear which might be enough to satisfy your curiosity.

Friday

On Friday if you just want to stay in after the last brutal two weeks Netflix has some quality binge material with Season 2 of BBC America’s Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. In Anime, DEVILMAN crybaby. And finally based on the Charles Forsman comic series, End of the F***ing World.

Saturday

Not sure how you are going to spend your weekend? Our friends at the Magic Vault in Brisbane are hosting the X-Wing Tabletop Regionals this weekend. Aimed more towards the experience player, but there is no reason to go get some tips.

Sunday

Netherworld turns one this Sunday! It’s been 365 days of awesome since Netherworld first opened it’s doors in Brisbane last year and it’s time to celebrate this Sunday! Be one of the first 250 people in the door to get a limited edition pin but make sure you hang around as they will be giving away a 1997 Sega X-Files Pinball Machine on the night! As if you needed an excuse.

2. New South Wales & ACT

Need a movie about Ladybeard, Canadian J-Pop and Japans obsession with all the above? Event Cinemas in Sydney is playing Big In Japan as supported by Supanova this Saturday. This is a very limited session but if you are a fan of cult pop culture you probably already have a ticket.
