Last week was pretty big, so everyone will forgive you if you just want to stay in and play video games this week. But if you have some cabin fever there is still plenty to keep you entertained.

1. Queensland

Wednesday

Anyone who is hopelessly addicted to Hearthstone may want to drop in on Good Games Gold Coast who are hosting a Hearthstone Fireside standard Formal event. Newcomers and veterans are welcome but you need to have at least one deck for yourself.

If you need some trivia for your Wednesday the Mr Henderson Bar in Brisbane is hosting a Science Fiction Double Feature Trivia Show. What does this mean? We would think that you may want to brush up on your Rocky Horror in addition to your usual sci-fi diet.

Thursday

Opening Thursday, Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant hits cinemas Australia-wide. Reports are mixed on this but we will try to give you our impression next week (just as long as it doesn’t have that weird fleshy alien from Prometheus in it).

Friday

Starting Friday and running until Sunday Melbourne’s Annual MonsterFest travels to Brisbane for a collection of international horror, action, crime and black comedy films. Single-session tickets are available for sessions held at the Brisbane Myer Centre Cinemas as well as multipass tickets if you want to see as much as possible.

Also starting on Friday but running until the 20th in the Museum of Brisbane Folly Games will be running an interactive experience ‘The Farce Awakens’. Solve puzzles and complete challenges to move the story forward (and impact the outcome). If you act quick you can win a double pass that we will be giving away for Friday’s Opening!

If are super hyped for the new Alien movie this week and want to catch up with every other instalment, Foxtel will have an Alien vs Predator pop-up channel on Friday. The current line-up includes Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien: Resurrection and Prometheus plus Predator, Predator 2, and AVP: Alien vs Predator for anyone who doesn’t remember that Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover exist in the Alien-verse.

Temporary Plumbus Tattoos (we don’t need to explain what that is, everyone has one), Jumping Castles, DJ Mulan McNugget Sauce & DJ Taylor Schwifty + Get Schwifty Karaoke make this a huge adventure through the Multiverse. Tickets are available now.
