We are already halfway through March! Things are settling down right? No way, there is plenty to do this weekend! Let’s look across the country.

Wednesday
Starting off in Melbourne for retro gamers who love their Megadrive. Bartronica are hosting a Sonic the Hedgehog 2 tournament for hump day.

Thursday
In Brisbane for Tabletop gamers, Netherworld will turning into the ultimate fantasy RPG tavern. Filled with NPCs that have scores of adventures for prospective dungeon explorers. Oh yes and there will be merriment.

Also in Brisbane – Are a Lord Of The Rings mega-fan? Able to recite tales in the original elvish? Head Brightside for the Lord Of The Ring Trivia Night.

If you missed out on the ESL Pokemon TCG tournament in Melbourne last week then if you are near Mildura you can get in on the Lazarus Gaming Mildura Pokemon TCG League if you need your competitive Pokemon fix.

Update – Back in Brisbane (again) if you want to know more about the local Indie scene for video gaming, table top gaming, comics and a few other things the Dice and Pixels Indie Showcase is being hosted at Ace Comics Annerley

Friday
What’s on for St. Patricks Day? Well, across the country in participating Event Cinemas, our friends In the House are showing you how to do things the Chicago way with The Untouchables. If you haven’t seen it, this is classic Connery. You can check if it’s playing near you and buy tickets on the Event Cinemas website.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to go out you can catch the next instalment of Marvel Netflix with Iron Fist. You didn’t need sleep anyway right?

If you are in Melbourne if you DO want to venture outside as 10 hours of Mass Effect Andromeda through EA Access just isn’t cutting it. The Beta Bar is holding their Mass Effect Party, cosplay is encouraged.

Lastly in Brisbane, the Brisbane Library Comic Book Meetup is happening. These happen monthly for any comic aficionados out there, so if that is your choice of poison maybe check it out.

Saturday
On Saturday in Goulburn for one day only the Goulburn Comic Con is on at the Goulburn Mulwaree Library. It might only be for one day but there is a lot going on from Comic writing workshops to Quidditch.

If you answer to ‘Master Chief’ and are in Sydney, dust off the Needlers with the Spawn Point Bar hosting a Halo 2 doubles tournament.

Again in Brisbane and running all month long 4ZZZ and Zed Games presents Legends of Netherworld. This month celebration is all about Music, Games and High Scores. It kicks off with a selection of local bands and even a chance to show off your Guitar Hero: Aerosmith skills. Who said they would never come in handy?

Update – If you are working out your Cosplay plans for GoldNova next month the Brisbane Hackerspace has a Cosplay workshop on this Saturday for members but also open to the public. Details are on the event page.

Sunday
In Brisbane, if you supported the good folks at Junky Comics during their fundraiser a few weekends ago you can do it again this weekend but with Minigolf! The community collective behind the Zine and Indie Comic Symposium is throwing their support behind Junky and hosting a mini golf party benefit at Brisbane’s Holey Moley Golf Club. No Shooter McGavin’s allowed.

One of our favourite Barcades in Melbourne, Bartronica, want you to channel your untapped SNES potential with the Diddy Kong Racing Tournament. If you ever played this with a sibling then maybe it’s time to remind them of your glory.

Are you in Sydney? The Penrith Collectormania Fair is the largest collectors Toy Fair in NSW (that we know). Held at the Penrith Panthers pavilion, if you are tracking down that long lost action figure that secretly alludes you and keeps you up at night searching the internet until daybreak (I dont know what you mean, Im talking about my friend… um… Geoff, yeah Geoff) then maybe this is the place to look.

Not too far away in Canberra’s own Reload Bar they are hosting another round of fun with Games in the Pub if you need something for your Sunday afternoon.

Honorable mention for Cosplayers – If you are in Adelaide and want to get in on the Championships of Cosplay with OzComicCon, applications close Sunday 19th March so make sure you remember to apply before then.

*Phew* get all that? Did we miss anything? As always tell us in the comments below or maybe drop us a line
